When we receive notification of a transfer or cease, we are provided a code from our suppliers to indicate if this is considered a migration to another provider or an outright cease.
If the cease type is P or W, a cease fee is
always billed to us and be billed to our customer but if the cease type is M or L, there is no cease fee* as this is considered a migration.
*The only exceptions to this rule is with bundled services such a Talk Surf, where a cease fee is
always billed due to the type of service it is or when
migrating from a BT-based service to a LLU service due to the cease charge BT Wholesale can levy. When retaining service with us, we will not pass on this cease fee when the service is moved from a BT Wholesale to LLU service but will if the service is moved elsewhere.
